Valerie Lee
Carefully, silently and closely. Valerie is awash in sunlight. Radiance when the lights are turned off. Forcing you to think about the edges of the body.
She turns and turns.
Felt small in the world and went looking for others. Crawling to investigate the dots that escape your attention when looking up. It's not the roundness of the dots that interest her; not the circular motion on a surface but in time. That unnameable feeling of distance between a mother and daughter, a foreigner and locals. Attempting to connect beyond the immediately rational.
Between the now that is now and now and now and then.
Rice and improvisation to respond to the moment. Extensions that continue and refuse to bridge unease sit there and exist. Waiting. Contemplating. Carefully, silently and closely.
